If you’ve had a baby, regardless of how long ago, and you have a Diastasis Recti (tummy gap)or feel disconnected to your Core and/or Pelvic Floor my Diastasis Recovery programme is the programme you’ve been waiting for.

The programme is for any woman who wants to build a stronger tummy and improve their core and pelvic floor strength. You may be feeling that you are held back from exercise and moving how you want to move, either by a diastasis or by a lack of connection or co-ordination with these muscles.

The programme will help you if:

  • You have a small diastasis.

  • You have a feeling of disconnection or weakness with your core.

  • You have pelvic floor weakness that may have resulted in leaking when you laugh, sneeze, lift or jump.

  • You have lower back pain which may be associated with a ‘weak core’.

  • You want a better looking tummy.

  • You want a programme which is truly holistic and will improve the look, feel and strength of your tummy.

What do we look at in the programme?

Breathing is our foundation and we look at how to breathe and the importance of breathing in the correct way. We go through a breathing assessment before we check for diastasis.

We look at the fascia of the midline of our stomach and incorporate some massage/release work to allow your diaphragm to move properly and aid your breathing.

We look at motherhood movement patterns and mindful conscious movement and postural alignment.

The position of our pelvis is important to assess as well as the length and tension of our muscles.

Massage therapy will be included throughout the programme to bring balance back to your body and look at calming your nervous system to help your body heal.

Before the start of the programme there will be a detailed assessment which we will talk through and discuss the strategies that we will work through to help with your recovery.

We then meet face to face and start to work together using massage therapy and movement to help resolve the diastasis.

Remember that the healing process is not just about the gap, but the strength that can be gained in your abdominals to support the rest of your body; a truly holistic approach.
